Treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to ofloxacin and, as an alternative to other antimicrobials, ofloxacin can be used to treat the following infectious and inflammatory diseases:
prostatitis, epididymitis, orchitis;
uncomplicated urinary tract infections;
infections of the skin and soft tissues;
infections of bones and joints;
exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia;
prevention of infections caused by ofloxacin-sensitive microorganisms in patients with a significant decrease in immune status (for example, with neutropenia).
Adult patients with normal renal function (creatinine clearance greater than 50 ml / min)
daily dose of 400 mg, divided into 2 doses (every 12 hours), the daily dose can be increased to 600-800 mg for severe infections or in the treatment of patients with overweight
For uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections
200 mg per day for 3-5 days
400 mg single dose
A daily dose of up to 400 mg can be prescribed in 1 dose, preferably in the morning. A daily dose of more than 400 mg should be divided into 2 doses with an equal time interval.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water. The drug can be taken both before and during meals. It is necessary to avoid the simultaneous administration of the drug together with antacids.
